Make an ILS from a Go-Lab lab
This section reflects the content of the video where you learn how to create an inquiry learning space (ILS) from an online lab.

To create an ILS from an online lab on https://www.golabz.eu/, please follow the steps below:
1. First, you click on « Labs »
Click on Labs
2. To narrow your search, specify what you are looking for in the right column. In our case, we will use “Engineering“ as our subject domain
3. When you scroll down, you can also select the language in the right column, in our case English
4. When you find a lab that suits your needs you can choose it from the overview by clicking on it

5. When you click on “Preview”, a preview of the lab is shown
6. When you click on “Create space”, a new space is created with the lab in it
You have now created a new ILS in your Graasp account that now includes the lab you chose.
Log in to graasp.eu to see the ILS with your chosen lab. The ILS will have the same name as the lab.
Copy an ILS from Golabz.eu
This section reflects the content of the video that demonstrates how to find a published ILS in 'golabz.eu' and copy it to 'graasp.eu'.

Golabz offers many ready-to-use inquiry spaces. These are made by other Go-Lab users, mainly teachers. To copy and ILS from Golabz.eu, you can follow the steps below:
1. Click on “Spaces”

2. To narrow your search you can specify what you are looking for in the right column. In this example, we take physics as the subject domain
3. When you scroll down, you can select the language of the ILSs in the right column. In our case, we go for English
4. When you find an ILS that fits your needs, you can select it from the overview by clicking on it

5. When you click on “Preview”, the ILS is shown from the perspective of the students
6. When you click on “Duplicate space”, the ILS is duplicated in your Graasp account
7. The ILS is now copied in your account and you are ready to edit or share it!
Create an ILS with Graasp.eu

To create an ILS on ‘graasp.eu’, you can follow the steps below:
1. Go to http://graasp.eu/
2. If you already have an account, enter your credentials and click on the “login” button
3. If not, then click on “Sign up” to create your account

4. First thing you see once you login is the Dashboard. There you can see all ILSs you have made. Every icon relates to a single ILS.

5. To create and ILS click on the icon
6. Select “Create ILS”

7. Give your ILS a name and choose a scenario
8. When the box “Enable Learning Analytics” is ticked, Graasp automatically analyses the work students conducted when working on an ILS. As a teacher, you can view all these results in Graasp.

9. Now click on “Create ILS” and the ILS is created.
Add an App to an ILS

To add an App to your ILS, you can follow the steps below:
1. Open an ILS in Graasp
2. Then open the phase where you want to add the app i.e. the Conceptualisation phase
3. Click on the + icon and a list of items you can choose from will appear

5. Click on Select App
- All the available apps will appear in a drop down menu
- To look for a specific App, you can also type its name or first letters of its name in the available search field
- Click on the app which will now appear on your screen
Congrats! You have now added an app to your ILS!
Add a Lab to an ILS
This section reflects the content of the video that demonstrates how you can add a lab to an inquiry learning space (ILS).

To add a lab to your ILS, you can follow the steps below:
1. Open, in Graasp, the ILS to which you want to add a Lab to
2. Open the phase to which you want to add the Lab. This is usually the Investigation phase

3. Click on the + icon
4. Click on Add Lab

5. Click on Select Lab

6. You can scroll up and down to select a lab from the list but since the list is long, you can also type the first letters of the lab you are looking for, into the field.
7. Click on the selected lab and it will be added
Add Text to an ILS

To add a textbox to your ILS, you can follow the steps below:
1. Open, in Graasp, the ILS to which you want to add a textbox to
2. Open the phase to which you want to add the textbox i.e. Orientation
3. Click on the + icon
4. Choose Create Document

5. This gives you the option to add a document in rich text or plain text

6. Once you make your choice, enter the textbox name and then click on Create document

Add Image or File to an ILS

To add a file, you can follow the steps below:
1. Open the ILS to which you want to add a file to
2. Open the phase to which you want to add the file to i.e. Orientation

4. Click on Add File. This gives you the option to select a file in your computer

5. When the file is an image, it will be embedded in the ILS
6. If you add a file that cannot be embedded i.e. Excel file, then it will be available as a direct download for your students
Add Link or Video to an ILS

To add a link, like a YouTube video or an online article, for example, you can follow the steps below:
1. Open the ILS to which you want to add a link/video to
2. Open the phase to which you want to add the file to i.e. Orientation

Add a General Tool in an ILS (Calculator)
This section describes how you can use apps as general tools in an ILS, which means they are available in all phases of an ILS. It reflects the content of the video Add a General Tool in an ILS (Calculator) available on https://support.golabz.eu/video/add-a-general-tool-in-an-ils.
In this instruction, the calculator is been used as the general tool. You can do this by simply adding the calculator in the main folder of an ILS, as depicted in the figure below. Click on the plus icon, choose Add App, type Calculator on the select app box and click on the Calculator.

The Calculator will appear in every phase of the ILS, as you can see in the standalone view of the ILS in the figure below. Also, other tools, such as the Viewer or Input box are handy as a general tool.
