What is the .eu Web Awards?

The .eu Web Awards is an online competition, launched in 2014 and designed to acknowledge the best websites, using the .eu or .ею extensions. The goal is to enhance the visibility of innovative, well-designed and impactful websites.

What are the different award categories?

The awards are presented in five dynamic categories, in which the websites represent:

  • established national businesses - LEADERS
  • start-ups – RISING STARS
  • educational institutions, charitable organizations or pan European projects - LAURELS
  • blogs, news outlets, and media – HOUSE OF .EU
  • green initiatives and environmentally-friendly organisations – BETTER WORLD

From a nominee to a finalist

Once the requirements for the award nomination are met, and the organizers complete their initial evaluation, the nominees for each category are announced. As an EU H2020 funded project, Golabz.eu was successfully nominated for the LAURELS category.

Nominees become finalists through public voting. Within each category, the three websites with the most votes become the finalists in their category. Six members of the jury, who are professionals with background in communication, internet governance and telecoms, will evaluate the finalists and assign points for each. Finalists with the highest points from the jury are the winners.
